The Many Benefits of Cork
Cork is a truly sustainable and eco-friendly material. Most cork comes from the Mediterranean area, which is why we source our premium cork from Portugal.
Cork trees are hand-harvested without being cut down in the process. In addition, harvested cork trees can absorb up to 5x more CO2 than a non-harvested tree.
But cork also makes a brilliant raw material for yoga mats: it's antimicrobial surface protects your mat from germs, dirt and microbes.
Cork is naturally quite grippy but the grip improves significantly with moisture, which is why cork mats are great for sweaty and dynamic practices.
